Not-Wes,
A while ago we talked about broken links on the site. A recent comment in another thread prompted me to run www.brokenlinkcheck.com on the site again.
It's much better than it was before, so thanks for your good work on getting things put right.
However there is one big group of errors that are all basically the same problem and so ought to be an easy (if repetitive) fix:
They are all links that say "Click here for frameless version". It's right at the bottom of each stories main page and only appears if the readers browser does *NOT* support Frames.
All the errors seem to be caused by the page names not being updated from one story to the next. For example:

Thanks, Colin, Many of these have been going on for so long that I'm not going to work on them right now. Likely there are few site visitors with browsers that can't handle the framed version of the site anyway. I'll wait and try to remember to do them when fixing typos for the story in question. Not Wes

Not-Wes,
I did some checking with some of my software developer friends and the consensus is that Frames are a bad idea and are deprecated to the extent that very little browser testing is done to check they still work.
Having said that, we can only think of one browser (Dillo) that does not support frames and even that one recognises them and offers the user a chance to view the individual frame content.
The best technical suggestion for fixing the problem seems to be to recode the pages to use "Server side includes" and use a table to get the same effect we currently get from the frames.
I can do some testing to see how this works if you are interested. Contact me directly so we can discuss this without cluttering up the Forum.
