All the usual stuff.
The last chapter of Nature Girl posted tonight (Sunday). There will be a short filler piece on Wednesday, then WTLC starts on the coming Sunday, which is August 2nd. 98,000 words in 61 mostly short chapters. Because they're short, you'll usually get two chapters posting as one, so all you'll see in the list is chapter 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc. The last chapter to post will be the last three chapters at once. Lots of history in this one, some of which you've seen before.
Enjoy.

The Newsbox of August 2, 2020 says that the WTLC is Book 9 of the Bradford Exile series. That is incorrect. It is in the Spearfish Lake series.

Missed it in my hurried attempt at getting the site pages up and working for this new story. There are likely other gaffes. Report 'em either here in the forum or via the contact page e-mail address when you notice them. Not Wes

Gonna try and stay clear of spoilers, but I've been reading through my copy today and felt something should be mentioned.
According to the editor's notes, this was written very early on, one of the first Wes wrote, before various things had been finalized. So there are inconsistencies with later volumes. A lot of what's in it does show up in later volumes, not necessarily word for word, but pretty close some of the time. But there is also a lot of background on various folks which never showed up elsewhere...but is still fully in line with what we did come across elsewhere.
It works as it's own story, and also as part of the greater continuity without feeling like you've read it all before. That said, I can see why Wes held off on publishing it; enough of it does show up elsewhere that he probably felt it didn't add enough to justify publishing unless he had a dry spell long enough that there wasn't a work of new stuff ready to go...and Wes was never at a loss for ideas, so such a dry spell never happened. But he kept it around, and included it in what he gave the OK to in regard to posthumous publication, which I for one am grateful for.

Thanks Macro. It should work now. Wes has a lot of directories within directories and keeping track of all of them is tedious -- was even for him. The page should be fixed now. The link above it back to the Shorts page with the list of articles didn't work either. I had to fix that one too. There are likely other pages that need such treatment. I don't notice many of these mistakes because I use the "Back" button almost all the time (I get lost less that way). These links have been bad since some time in 2016 when the article was originally uploaded by Wes. It's obviously the one his story "Destiny" was based on. Too bad there won't be a sequel. Or two. I know he had at least one planned. He finished writing "Destiny" less than three months before he died. Not Wes

I got this story added to the bibliography. If I made any mistakes let know so that I can fix them.
