Chapter 1 is up and I'm not finding any linking errors with the support pages. That doesn't mean there aren't some.
The preorders were e-mailed an hour ago or more according to Dan.
Report any problems here or to me by e-mail via the contact page.
If you can't get the new pages, hold down the left shift key and click on reload or refresh or whatever your browser calls it until it works for you. If that doesn't help, clear your browser caches and try again. It is working for me here using the site.
I see something in the store page I need to fix, but it ain't in the way so there's no hurry there. I'll get that done. I'm sure I've forgotten something.
Thanks,
Not Wes

I like that the section dividing icons on the website are swords.

I like that the section dividing icons on the website are swords. I couldn't make those sword images work in the rtf so the people who ordered that file format get "fake" swords. They look something like this: <=======||xxo And should be placed like that. Those text representations are something Wes dreamed up, but it gave us a chance to try an image in the the files that would support it. I'm not sure the centering is working correctly everywhere and in all formats, but people should get the idea anyway. We're not likely to be using any in other books. Thanks, Not Wes

The detail which hasn't been posted for this story is number of chapters - 26 is the answer.
Another excellent story from Wes (even if he did want to distance himself from it by using a different pen name).

The detail which hasn't been posted for this story is number of chapters - 26 is the answer. Another excellent story from Wes (even if he did want to distance himself from it by using a different pen name). Thanks, Anthony I have that in a couple places in the store and story entry pages. In fact, if you'll look in the left hand column when you click to the story to pick up the latest chapter, you should see a parenthetical note at the bottom of the story chapter link list how many chapters there are total. I added that new with this story. I should have done it long ago. Should have requested Wes do it even longer ago. I always want to know how many chapters there are in a story, and few authors provide that info. Is it a long one or a short one? I just didn't think of it before because I always knew myself, seeing the stories for editing efforts before most other people get a look. It doesn't matter on older stories as the link list is there and you can see them all listed, but new stories are a big blank if you missed the info when it was first posted. And I'm not sure Wes always included it somewhere. I tried to, but likely forgot myself on some of the ones I've provided info for. I also tried to include the approximate word count and an approximate page count equivalent. They're approximate, not exact, and page count would depend on the format, which could differ from pdf to print book or rtf or whatever. I'll give some of the reasoning for the pen name a little later. It's an involved story itself Thanks, again, Not Wes

Ok, I'm about halfway thru Sword of the Amazon, I'll not spoil anything for folks just starting! A character in a comic book story with the surname "Parker" ? LOL I like the sword at section/scene breaks. I do have a question.....where can I post a photo? This will become evident in a few chapters. The photo I would post will get clearance from the subject who is in the fantasy/gaming industry. She wears an article of clothing mentioned in the book. Once I have her ok I'd like to post it in the forum.

Believe it or not, we editors actually tone down some of Wes's more flagrant cliches and such. Not enough of 'em it seems. Sometimes they get a bit trite. Peter Parker picking a peck of pickled spider webs didn't seem bad enough so we left it. We did change some other names in the story though. Not any that were comic book related that I remember. You're going to have to post your photo on some external photo site like flicker or photo bucket or those things and then link to it from the forum page. The forum does have provisions for attachments, which would include images, but Wes didn't allow it as it's too prone to abuse. I personally have seen whole sites and forums deleted because of such activity. I was a member of two Yahoo Groups that it happened to. You would want to post the photo somewhere you could delete it, even though doing so would of course make it no longer available to forum readers. Way up at the top of the page, just under the image of the kayaker in the setting sun, you'll see a link to "Help", which has a link to a page with directions on how to link an outside image to show in a forum page. I think it works here (directions say it will). It did in the old forum, but I don't remember trying it here in the new one. Let me know if you need help. Make sure the posting of the picture is past the point in the story of any "spoiler effect." Thanks, Not Wes
