Nice story.
Should be noted as a clickbait site. A couple of sentences & photo amongst a page full of advertising and pop-ups. My ad-blocking add-in worked overtime.
Still a nice story, about a family coming together to accomplish an outdoor activity.

This past year my Brother, who is 64, and some friends hiked down to Phantom Ranch by one trail and back up by another. They did it in one day to avoid the cost and trouble of trying to stay over night at the bottom. He said it was hard enough to get the reservations for the hike let alone to camp overnight. Kirby

I've wondered about doing a down-n-up.. I found a Park Service briefing that recommended against it, but then I think they were also talking.. summer. April, on the other hand...
