So I was re-reading some of the Shorts, and came across this:
And as I was reading this, my mind was going, "Norther Califor-oooohshitshitshit." As I writte this, the death toll is currently at 48 in the Camp Fire alone, and expected to rise as there are hundreds missing.
Please everybody, including the Boyd family, I hope you and yours are not directly affected by the current wildfires blazing their way through parts of northern California at the moment. Spare a thought (and a dollar for any relief charity providing aid to the evacuees) for those fleeing the flames, and those who have already lost their lives in the conflagration.
Firefighters: Stand strong, guys. I'd buy each of you a bucket of sleep if I could, I'm sure after this many days on the front lines you could use it.

His Lordship MayhemJust this evening I heard from a couple who lived somewhere in the
vicinity of Paradise, California, friends of mine who had a double wide
house trailer that they often lived in during the winter months - the
ironic thing is that last year (2017) they were evacuated from their
home here in British Columbia. The big difference is that they had
several HOURS warning here and only a few minutes down there - due more
to the speed of the relative fires that anything else -- oh and he
second difference is that their house here is still standing, while
their double wide down there is gone. They even lost their car, but
they're alive and not badly hurt. K. Pelle
