Colorado readers or anyone in law enforcement. In an upcoming book, Wes mentions Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN), a Michigan operation with no direct affiliation with any other similar networks. Does anyone know if Colorado has anything similar? The system seems to be different from NCIC (National Crime Information Center).
Thanks,
Not Wes

Question answered, so response not required, but if anyone has anything to say, that would be fine anyway, on any topic here. Thanks for looking to those who have.

I know here in Virginia, we have something called VCIN, Virginia Criminal Information Network. It's tied to NCIC loosely (wants and warrants will raise a flag on a name, but no further info, causing the dispatcher to have to pull up NCIC to get the full picture).
I would presume most/all other states have their own similar databases.

I know here in Virginia, we have something called VCIN, Virginia Criminal Information Network. Best Jase Thanks, Jase. One other editors found what we were looking for, the Colorado Crime Information Center or CCIC. It was a matter of figuring out the right search terms to find it. Wes didn't find it himself (or was just lazy and didn't look) and used the abbreviation for the Michigan version, which isn't correct in Colorado as they have a different name for their own crime database. The other editor found it and we've made the change in the future book. I'm glad he did as it was something I'd have depended on Wes to get right, and I wouldn't know there were other networks or where to begin looking for the right one. He at least knew that something didn't ring true and thought to look into it, then found the correct answer. Thanks again, Not Wes
