Sorry we're somewhat late with this, but the next book from Spearfish Lake Tales, Plain Jane, is now available for preorder from the Spearfish Lake Tales Store page. This is an independent novel, no connection to any other books. Well, except that Wychbold features prominently.
Here's the synopsis:
Jane Marshall is single but looking and, even though her nickname is ‘Plain Jane,’ dressed nicely she’s rather pretty. She is tired of her low-paying restaurant job despite a recent bachelor’s degree and would like to distance herself from the irritating woman who shares her apartment. Rick Thredford, introverted computer geek, unmarried and with no social skills, is bored to tears at his job where they’re trying to force him to quit. He has plenty of money now and will soon be worth a lot more if he can keep his job. Sophia, his secretary, thinks he needs to be married to give him an interest other than sitting alone and writing computer code to overcome his boredom. Unfortunately, the marriage needs to happen quickly, but it only happens if she can get them to agree to a trip to the altar with no time to get to know each other. Can Sophia play the matchmaker in an arranged marriage – put Jane and Rick together, and have them married in just a few days – and then have any chance that such a nontraditional marriage can be successful? There are so many pitfalls to be negotiated in such a short time.
It is approximately 97,000 words (about 194 print pages) in 24 chapters.
You can preorder Plain Jane for as little as $19.99 through the Spearfish Lake Tales Store page
Preorders will be sent sometime on the afternoon of Sunday, June 11, Eastern Standard Time.
By the way this is the last book to post that had Wes's hand throughout the editing process.

So far it is not showing up in the store. Kirby It is working for me. Try clearing your caches or holding down the left shift key as you click on any store link will often get you in (tells your browser to refresh that page rather than use the one cached on your machine). Let me know if it still doesn't work. It does show for others just fine. Thanks. Sorry for any hassles.

Do you have the time frame and copy write dates for Plain Jane so that I can add them to the bibliography on the wiki?

Do you have the time frame and copy write dates for Plain Jane so that I can add them to the bibliography on the wiki? Kirby Kirby, if you mean the regular copyright dates for the book, those are always listed on the site home page, the store page, and the order page, as well as the intro and chapter pages when they're out: Plain Jane by Wes Boyd ©2012, ©2014, ©2018
Jane Marshall is single but looking and, even though her nickname is ‘Plain Jane,’ dressed nicely she’s rather pretty. . . . blah, blah, blah." Are those what you mean? If not, let me know. As to time frame you probably mean when the story takes place. In the last posting schedule Wes sent around to the editing crew (2016!), PJ is listed as: "Plain Jane - Ind 7 - 10?", which means it's independent novel #7 and the year is a questionable 2010. It may be a bit later than that but nothing in it told me that it was really recent, say closer to 2018 or anything or earlier than 2010. For what it's worth.

Thanks for the info. Wes used to do all of the updates to the bibliography page. I am trying to fill in for him. The bibliography page has been one of the most visited pages of the wiki.

Kirby You're welcome. I'm trying to fill in for him as an editor and Webslave role (certainly not "master" class!). I've never used the Wiki much because I find navigation too much of a challenge. I've stumbled across useful info there, and then tried to return to it but can't find it again. I don't know how to fix that. I'll provide what info I can but don't feel confident enough to help work on the Wiki itself. Time is also a bit scarce at the moment. Good luck with it.

Sorry to be a pain at what must be such a difficult time but there is or at least appears to be an issue.
When I attempt to buy the RTF of Plain Jane via Paypal my Checkout form informs me that I have just placed an order for Rag Doll. (To be sure that it wasnt a hangover from previously having ordered Rag Doll I deleted it and tried again. Same result) This could cause confusion at your end when you come to work out who wants what. Logically most of the current selection of orders will be for Plain Jane but conceivably some might be for Rag Doll.
Yours apologetically

Same result) This could cause confusion at your end when you come to work out who wants what. Logically most of the current selection of orders will be for Plain Jane but conceivably some might be for Rag Doll. Yours apologetically M Mallory, The same day you posted this, Dan -- the receiver and caretaker of the orders that come in -- also told me there was a problem, that all orders coming in indicated they were for Rag Doll. I think I fixed it that same day, but it may have been after your own altercation with the form on the store page. I'm hoping it's fixed. Dan said he was going to be e-mailing people who it looked to him might have wanted Plain Jane instead to clarify the purchase. He was going to continue that for a while at least and let me know if there were still problems. I haven't heard from him so I hope it is fixed. I haven't done html form work in a long time and have an aversion to PayPal in particular, so I use a 10-foot pole when touching the keyboard when working on their form in html (That's a joke!). I deleted my account with them probably a dozen years ago because of problems. Anyway, I'm hoping it's fixed. Dan will let me know if he still sees a problem, and I'll work on it again if I need to -- if others complain. Anyone out there still having problems please let Dan know, and post a note here, too, and I'll try again, but I think it's taken care of. Thanks for letting us know. Not Wes

Yes the problem seems fixed from my end and indeed I have now ordered Plain Jane.
Also thank you for your hard work.
