Kathy, Amanda and Daniel. I read this while catching up with news from my native New Zealand. (I'm in Australia now) thespinoff.co.nz/media/03-04-2018/why-small-town-papers-are-worth-saving/I straight away thought of you guys, your grief, and the battle ahead of you in keeping your newspaper running. My old unit, 6 Battalion RNZIR has a motto... "Kia Kaha". Be strong, be resolute. Norm

I'm not keeping it running; I live almost an hour away from the town that newspaper runs in. I'm in the process of selling it, but it's been a real mess. :/

I sympathize with your plight. It must tough to run a business when you're a distance from it. I hope you can sell it.
I once asked Wes about a similar scenario in his book, Hearts of Gold. His main character was planning to move several hundred miles from her job location but still expecting to supervise some employees remotely. I asked Wes if he thought he could manage the Hudson newspaper if he were living in Colorado. I never really did get an answer from him on that question.
