I first went to Biloxi in 1969, a month after Hurricane Camille devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast. What a mess! I haven't been back to that area since before Katrina hit in 2005. Keesler suffered $950 million dollars in damage from Katrina. One amazing fact was that training continued in spite of the damage. On September 16, 2005 basic airmen from Lackland AFB arrived at Keesler to receive technicial training. I guess Will Hoffman was glad he was in Phoenix at the time.
