Nature Girl, the next book from Wes Boyd, is now available for pre-order from the Spearfish Lake Tales Store page. This is another Bradford Exiles story, and though short I think it is quite good. Like some of Wes's other stories, I think it is too short and could use a sequel, which can never appear. It happens concurrently with an older book, Picking up the Pieces, so there are scenes from that book in it, some of which come from a different viewpoint. Because of this similarity and short length, the price has been reduced some.
You've already seen the cover and likely read about it, but here's the story description again:
Twelve-year-old Kayla Holst likes being barefoot, even in the winter. She runs track and cross country without shoes when they let her. In fact, Kayla has discovered she likes being totally nude and now wants to be a nudist. She wishes she had friends who did. Her girlfriends even hate changing clothes or showering in the school locker room after gym, so they aren’t going to join her for skinny dipping in their home swimming pool. She isn’t even a teenager yet, so boys don’t interest her, and she’s already smart enough to know that being nude doesn’t automatically mean sex anyway. Adults can be so stupid sometimes. Kayla’s family doesn’t yet know her preference, which severely limits her nude time. With her mother the mayor of the town, a liberation march for nudism could cause problems for her family. She’s too young to join a nudist resort, so how can she find friends who also prefer to be clothes free?
It is approximately 85,000 words (about 170 print pages) in 21 chapters.
You can pre-order Nature Girl for as little as $14.99 through the Spearfish Lake Tales Store page. (I fixed the incorrect pricing this morning -- Monday here in the USA)
If all goes well, pre-orders will be sent sometime on the afternoon of Sunday, May 17, 2020, Eastern Standard Time, and story chapter postings will start a little later than that, but should be up by the next morning.
I'll try to scrape up a filler chapter to even out the postings and start the book after this one on a weekend also.
This book is the last of the eight "authorized" books on Wes's original list that he sent before his surgery in March of 2018. We have some other books that Kathy, Wes's wife and "estate," have authorized for release after this one. There are about a year's worth, which should take us well into 2021.
