Check out the last line of Chapter 2. Nice one Wes I also really enjoyed this one, flawed heroes/heroines do make for good stories (see also Out of the Cage as well as Down by the Riverside). That's not to say that nice characters can't be fun but there is something about flawed characters which makes them more interesting. Steve

This is a page I read constantly and have for a long time. I have popped in here once in the past. I read a thread somewhere else recently about giving compliments and I find I've been remiss. Anyway...
I really enjoyed this story. I admit I was concerned with the warning as I am not a religious man. Key word Religious. I have faith but that's between me and my God and I stopped going to church at 16. Never lost my faith but sure questioned it for a long while. What I enjoyed about this story is how Nanci has grown in her faith. She gets it.
Great storytelling. From the top of your catalog to the bottom. That's why I am a faithful reader although a mostly quiet one.

I am going to miss Reverend Nanci and will look forward to the next one in the series. I agree with the many praises for the book and think they could even be a little higher. I would give it 5 stars. Of course, I have great faith the new book "Rag Doll" will be just as good. Needless to say, I am looking forward to it. Keep up the good writing Wes. In fact put a subscription form for your newspaper on the home page of Spearfish Lake tales-I could be enticed to subscribe just to read some more of your scribblings. John

Story did a good job of building up suspense about why the parents are acting the way they are and what it will take to really stop the lunatic who claims to "own" our heroine. But then the answers came and the story fizzled out because those answers just popped out of nowhere like cheap gimmicks. I do believe the part where a dangerous lunatic keeps getting turned loose for more tries at enacting his twisted fantasies, just because he claims to be a Christian Minister.
