Tonight the Super Moon should be available for viewing. My neighbor called me up at 6pm CT to remind me of the upcoming event. There was too much cloud cover at that time but the clouds had mostly cleared away by 8pm. Supposedly, 12:45am ET is when viewing is optimal so I will be out there at 11:45pm. I hope there is no cloud cover at that time. You can probably still see the super moon until sunrise on Monday morning.

Rats! Too much cloud cover. I did 3 photos of the moon but there was only a little hole in the clouds where the moon peeked through. I'll try later when I set the garbage out.

Some better photos of the moon. There was a phenomenon that was interesting. There was huge circular field of clear sky and at the center of that field was the moon. It seemed at the circumference of that circular field was a faint light. I assume that was a reflection of the light of the moon which separated the clear area from the surrounding cloud covered sky. Any explanations that Wes or some other amateur astronomers can give me will be appreciated. This wasn't quite the magnificence view of the total solar eclipse but it was interesting.

There will be a "Super Blood Wolf Moon" Sunday night - if you are a 'sky watcher' and have a clear sky Unfortunately, we're forecast for cloudy if not raining for the next 3+ days. We'll watch anyway, but it's unlikely to be seen at our house for 2019 Thanks, Ken, Not Wes

I did see the Super Wolfe Blood Moon tonight. The red color seemed like a rust, pinkish color to me. My 90 year neighbor and i were out looking at the sky for over an hour. I don't have a good enough camera and there is too much ambient light to get a decent photograph though there was hardly any cloud cover. There's an observatory about 10 ten miles away but I don't driving much at night.

K Pelle, the link you posted had a better photograph than what I saw with my naked eye. And I was wearing my glasses.

The Hudson Post Gazette had a nice photograph of the Super Blood Wolf Moon on the front page of 1-24-2019 edition.

I had a good viewing of the 2019 Super Worm Moon tonight. I was taking a late evening walk after 8:30 pm central time under a cloudless sky. The large, very bright moon seemed to follow me around as I walked. I think it should be out for several more hours. Happy viewing. It was the third super moon of 2019 that just happened to fall on the vernal equinox.

Yeah, I saw it from here as well and for once it was at a decent time, my only problem was that I only noticed it in passing and was in the city - so it was somewhat "washed out" by the local light "clutter." At least this time I didn't have clouds covering that portion of the sky - like tonight.
